Montreal Jewish Memories is a series of four films which recreates the life of Montreal's Jewish community - from the early immigrant years, through the Depression and World War II, to the Post-War period. Laughter, tears and - above all - vitality.

Max Beer:
I came from a DP camp in Germany. My parents were survivors from Poland. And, after the war they came here (Montreal)... I was watched all the time. They never let me ride a bicycle. They never let me go too far from the house. I just thought my parents were weird. I was a kid. I wanted be like everybody else.

Max Beer:
…She never told me about the fact that she had had a family before the war.
